Pregnancy scanning services at The London Women's Clinic are provided by the London Ultrasound Centre.
The London Ultrasound Centre is one of London's most popular private scan providers with an excellent reputation of clinical care, high quality service and convenient appointments.

Early Pregnancy Scan
5-11 Weeks
An early pregnancy scan will confirm if you are pregnant, calculate your estimated due date and diagnose a multiple pregnancy.

Nuchal Scan
11 weeks & 2 days to 14 weeks
Screening for Down Syndrome, Edwards' and Patau Syndromes combined with first anatomy checks and measurements.

- Blood test to improve accuracy not widely available on the NHS

This is a screening test that will produce a genetic abnormalities risk result, it will not reveal if your baby definitely has a chromosome abnormality. During your appointment we will go through your report and fully explain our diagnosis.

Anomaly Scan
20-24 weeks
The anomaly scan is an important milestone in your pregnancy. It provides a detailed anatomical check with growth measurements and looks for the first signs of genetic disorder.

Your baby's organs are checked and its expected growth and welfare measurements are calculated. Your results are checked and its expected growth and welfare measurements are calculated. Growth Scan
14 - 20 weeks
To check on the growth and welfare of your baby in the first trimester.

- Scan performed by a highly trained sonographer or consultant

Welfare Scan
To check on the growth and welfare of your baby in the second and third trimester. This service includes Dopplers for measuring blood flow from the placenta to your baby, these are critical in monitoring growth in the latter stages of pregnancy.

Genetic Tests - Integrated, CVS & Amniocentesis
Integrated Down Syndrome Test
Scan and first test from 11 weeks and 2 days - 13 weeks, Second test from 15-22 weeks
An accurate test for Down Syndrome that combines the results of a scan and blood test during your first trimester with a blood test during your second trimester.

Although greater accuracy is acheived by waiting 15 weeks to perform the second part of the test, you may prefer to receive your results at an earlier time. We will call you three days after your appointment to let you know the results.

What we need to know before
To assist with the test please bring written confirmation of your blood group to your appointment. If you don't have this we can help you arrange a blood test when you book.

What happens with your results
We always check on the wellbeing of your baby when we perform any scan and for this reason the gender scan is combined with a growth scan that checks your baby's health. The results are presented in a two-page report which we will go through and fully explain during your appointment.
