What is the Familymakers Fair?

Society continues to change, and it is important that we keep up with the ever-evolving structure of families. At London Women’s Clinic, London Sperm Bank and London Egg Bank, we are coming together at the Familymakers Fair to explain what fertility options are available for all those who we welcome through our doors.

Our London Bridge Clinic will host our partners who have been Familymakers since 1985 and together, we will share our fertility expertise. Regardless of where you are in you fertility journey, or where you are from, we’re here to help.

Event Programme

We will be opening our doors from 10am so you can explore our clinic, meet our staff and find out how we achieve our industry leading results. We will be bringing together our experts from Bristol to Harley Street to present on a range of topics specifically curated for heterosexual couples such as fertility testing, importance of nutrition and wellbeing, surrogacy and fertility treatments from IVF to IUI.

10:30 - From Fertility Testing to Family Building

Entering the realm of fertility treatment can be daunting, but London Women’s Clinic are here for you, providing all the information you need to maximise your chances of success. A clear step-by-step presentation explaining the relatively simpler IUI and the more complicated IVF and ICSI as well as a safe space to ask your questions, ensures that you will come away with all the information to pave your way to parenthood.

12:00 - The importance of nutrition, wellbeing and support

During fertility treatment, your mind and body go through a wide range of changes. In this talk, you’ll hear from a panel of experts about why looking after your mental health during your fertility journey is so important, the role nutrition can play, and where to find the different support groups provided by London Women’s Clinic.

14:00 - From Fertility Testing to Family Building

Entering the realm of fertility treatment can be daunting, but London Women’s Clinic are here for you, providing all the information you need to maximise your chances of success. A clear step-by-step presentation explaining the relatively simpler IUI and the more complicated IVF and ICSI as well as a safe space to ask your questions, ensures that you will come away with all the information to pave your way to parenthood.

15:30 - The Surrogacy Pathway

Starting IVF with surrogacy can be daunting and fraught with highs and lows. London Women’s Clinic has completed more surrogacy journeys than any other UK clinic, with the clinical data needed to empower you on your journey. We hope you will come away from this presentation with confidence. You’ll understand how surrogacy works, receive advice on starting your surrogacy journey, and hear more about the legal steps involved.

Meet the Specialists

Our clinical specialists will be providing a range of talks but also be available if you have any questions about your journey.

Dr Mohar Goswami, Consultant Gynaecologist and Specialist in Reproductive Medicine

Dr Mohar Goswami is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Sub Specialist in Reproductive Medicine, having trained and done research at the Centre for Life in Newcastle, then the Chelsea and Westminster hospital in London. Before joining LWC, Mohar worked as Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine at the James Cook Hospital. Her specialisms include investigations and treatments to sub-fertile couples, including treatment of anovulation, IVF and ICSI treatments, treatment with donor gametes, gynaecological endocrinology. She has keen interest in fertility research and ethics and has published papers and presented in various conferences.

Zaina Mahmoud, Research Associate

Zaina is a research associate at LWC, specialising in female fertility preservation and donation. She’s completing her comparative PhD on surrogacy regulation, looking at Britain and California, at the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health, University of Exeter.

Dr Kirsty Horsey, Senior Research Associate

Dr Kirsty Horsey joined LWC/LEB in September 2021 as a Senior Research Associate, a new role created to carry out original socio-legal research on aspects of the work undertaken at LWC and LEB. Her first project has looked at the surrogacy treatments undertaken at LWC and LEB clinics since 2014, including conducting surveys with surrogates and intended parents. Her background is in academia: she has taught and researched law at the University of Kent, Canterbury, since 1998. Her main field of research has always focused on families created by assisted reproduction, particularly surrogacy, and their socio-legal implications. Since around 2015, she has been heavily involved in campaigning for reform of the law on surrogacy and is looking forward to the report and draft legislation due to be published by the Law Commissions of England & Wales and Scotland later this year.

Jamie Forster, Senior Fertility Counsellor and Support Lead

Jamie is an experienced person-centred counsellor who specialises in fertility, trauma, and family therapy. She has a friendly and down to earth therapeutic approach and is passionate about supporting people through fertility treatment or donation and advocates nationwide for strong emotional support during treatment.

There will also be tea, coffee and pastries to ensure you have enough energy throughout the day. Our London Bridge Clinic is situated right next to the station and opposite Borough Market, so after the event why not pop in and make a day of it?

London Women's Clinic, London Egg Bank and London Sperm Bank will each have a dedicated stall where you can enquire about anything from using donor eggs/sperm, how we recruit our donors to how you can continue your fertility journey and our prices.
