Dr Hemlata Thackare, Consultant Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist
Dr Thackare completed her clinical research fellowships in reproductive medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, the London Fertility Centre and The Cromwell IVF Unit, Swansea. She has a special interest in endometrial factors in implantation and polycystic ovarian syndrome and received ‘The Best Young Scientist’ award by the British Fertility Society in 2004. She joined the LWC in 2007 and is the Person Responsible to the HFEA for LWC Cardiff. She says: 'The London Women’s Clinic has been a groundbreaker on issues such as treating same-sex couples and egg sharing. I am proud to lead a very dynamic and caring team in Cardiff.'
Tracey Sainsbury , Senior Fertility Counsellor
Tracey joined the clinic in 2011 and now oversees our support team of specialist fertility counsellors and coaches, providing a robust foundation of support for our patients and donors too. Tracey is a member of the Advisory Panel for Fertility Network UK and a Trustee of the Sperm, Egg & Embryo Donation Trust (SEED Trust). Tracey’s first book ‘Making Friends with your Fertility’ was published in 2011 sharing the knowledge she has gained over the past twenty years of working in fertility and secondary infertility, she is passionate about fertility empowerment and regularly facilitates LWC seminars and workshops.
Giles Palmer, Senior Embryologist and Business & Quality Manager
Giles joined the LWC in 2016, having previously worked as a Senior Embryologist and Clinic Director in Athens, Greece. He has over 25 years’ of experience working the field of embryology and author to many scientific publications. As well as embryology he takes responsibility for quality assurance within the clinic to ensure that our work meets the required regulated standards.
