From summer 2025, all embryos, eggs and sperm currently stored at our licensed Eastbourne site will be safely and securely transferred to our state-of-the-art cryo-repository at LWC Bromley. This change is part of a wider consolidation of embryology and laboratory services to ensure patients continue to benefit from the best possible facilities and expertise.

LWC Bromley is fully licensed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), and all samples will be managed and transferred by our experienced team, in line with strict regulatory and safety protocols.

Key Information for Patients

1. You do not need to take any action if you are happy for your stored material to be moved to LWC Bromley.

2. There is no cost to you for this transfer.

3. Your embryos, eggs or sperm will remain securely stored in a fully licensed and monitored environment. If you wish to undergo treatment using your stored material, this will now take place at LWC Bromley.

4. If Bromley is not feasible, you may request to transfer your samples to another LWC site in Harley Street, Cardiff or Darlington, also at no cost.

5. If you prefer to transfer your samples to a non-LWC fertility clinic, we will fully support this process. Please note that courier charges to external providers will be your responsibility, as is standard practice.

6. As an acknowledgement of this change, we are offering 12 months of free storage at our Bromley and Harley Street clinics.

A Message from Our Medical Director, Professor Nick Macklon:

“As Medical Director of LWC, I am proud of the service we have been able to bring to Bromley, Eastbourne and Brighton over the past two years, increasing access to world-class care. In order to continually improve on this it is sometimes necessary to adjust the balance of services offered between our different clinics, and it is for this reason that we have decided to focus our IVF laboratory and theatre services south of London at our state-of-the-art Bromley clinic. LWC Eastbourne and LWC Brighton will continue to serve their communities providing ready access to care, including consultations and scans, while embryology services and theatre procedures will be provided at LWC Bromley. We look forward to continuing our mission to offer top quality care to all in the south who are seeking help to build their families.”

We understand that changes of this nature may raise questions. Please be assured that this transition will not affect the safety of your stored material or your future treatment options, and our team is here to support you at every step.
