From our study of 8,922 donor IUI cycles in 3,333 women (2004–2016), we found that persistence pays off. While each donor IUI cycle has about a 9% chance of success, the odds build over time. For women under 35, the chance of having a baby rises to 29% after several cycles - most within the first six.
It’s completely normal not to succeed straight away. Staying with the treatment can make a real difference.
For women over 40, research suggests moving to IVF after three unsuccessful IUI cycles may be a better path.
