Professor Nick Macklon, Medical Director
Professor Macklon is a world-renowned expert in reproductive medicine. He has held professorships at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, the University of Southampton and the University of Copenhagen - where he is currently based. He is co-founder of the Complete Fertility Centre clinic in Southampton, and a member of the Executive Committee of the European Society of Human Reproduction.
Mr Michael Rimington, Senior Consultant in Reproductive Medicine
Mr Rimington is one of LWC’s most experienced consultants, having been working in the field of assisted conception since 1992, and has been an accredited Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist since 1997. His area of special interest is the management of women with polycystic ovarian disease, on which subject he has published widely, although his breadth of experience means all patients will be expertly cared for, whatever their situation.
Dr Giuseppina Lamanna, Consultant Gynaecologist and IVF Specialist
Dr Lamanna graduated from the University of Sacro Cuore in Rome, Italy. She has written a number of academic papers on infertility with particular interest in polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometrial receptivity and embryo implantation. At the LWC she focuses on women with poor endometrial response or previous IVF failure where she evaluates the uterine cavity and endometrial receptivity and offers personalised innovative therapies.
Mimi Arian Schad, Director of Nursing and HFEA Person Responsible
Mimi has been with the LWC since 2005 and is the Director of Nursing and Person Responsible to the HFEA for the LWC Harley Street. Mimi completed her nursing qualifications at Guy’s Hospital and is qualified as an operating theatre and fertility nurse specialist. She is a member of the LWC's clinical governance team.
Dr Ajit Gill, Consultant Gynaecologist and IVF Specialist
Dr Gill has over 15 years’ experience in fertility and assisted reproduction and specialises in infertility and IVF. She graduated from the Lady Harding Medical College, New Dehli and received her MBBS in 1978. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Before moving to the LWC, she worked at the Cromwell Hospital from 1994.
Mr Michael Booker, Consultant in Fertility and Reproductive Surgery
Mr Booker has recently joined the team at the LWC, having been an NHS Consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology since 1990. His involvement with fertility and IVF started in 1984 at King’s College Hospital, London. He has a special interest in reproductive surgery, including tubal microsurgery, endometriosis surgery, myomectomy, and correction of congenital uterine malformations. He is also interested in male infertility and surgical sperm retrieval.
Dr Mona Rahmati, Consultant Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist
Dr Rahmati graduated and completed her training in Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Medicine in Rene Descartes - Paris V University. Before joining the team in 2015, she was a consultant in Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital and Bluets Hospital in Paris. Her special areas of interest are recurrent implantation failure and recurrent miscarriage.
Dr Marianne Vendola, Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Dr Vendola received her medical degree and specialisation at the University of Rome La Sapienza, practising as a full-time resident from 2007. She worked as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Rome first as a resident, then as a fellow, and ultimately as a consultant in the fetal medicine department from 2010 to 2015.
Jinjun Wang, Laboratory Manager and Senior Embryologist
Jinjun received his embryology training from the Shenzhen Hospital of Beijing University and Sydney. He has been a member of the team at LWC since 2008 and became Laboratory Manager in 2013. His objective is to maintain the high success rate of the laboratory and introduce new technologies - such as oocyte vitrification and blastomere biopsy - for the benefit of LWC patients.
Elena Linara, Senior Embryologist and Quality Lead
Elena has 10 years’ experience within embryology and is qualified in biomedical sciences, prenatal genetics and fetal medicine, and clinical embryology. She is particularly interested in ocyte and embryo vitrification, prenatal genetics, quality management, intrauterine insemination and egg sharing. Before joining the team at LWC she worked as an embryologist, andrologist and a deputy sperm bank manager.
Dr Apostolos Tsironis, Consultant Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist
Dr Tsironis graduated from the Medical school of the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens in Greece. He completed his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the University Hospital of Ioannina in Greece. Through his training he developed a special interest in Reproductive medicine and before joining LWC he has worked both in NHS and private fertility clinics. He has presented his work in various scientific meetings. He specialises in women with polycystic ovary syndrome and women with low ovarian reserve. He joined LWC as he shares the views and ethos of the company for continuous improvement and excellence in women’s care.
Dr Sarah Mourik, Consultant Gynaecologist and IVF Specialist
Dr Mourik graduated from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands. During her training During training she specialised in reproductive medicine. Before moving to London she worked in the St. Franciscus Gasthuis, a teaching hospital in Rotterdam.
Dr Mohar Goswami , Consultant Gynaecologist and Specialist in Reproductive Medicine
Dr Mohar Goswami is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Sub Specialist in Reproductive Medicine, having trained and done research at the Centre for Life in Newcastle, then the Chelsea and Westminster hospital in London. Before joining LWC, Mohar worked as Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine at the James Cook Hospital. Her specialisms include investigations and treatments to sub-fertile couples, including treatment of anovulation, IVF and ICSI treatments, treatment with donor gametes, gynaecological endocrinology. She has keen interest in fertility research and ethics and has published papers and presented in various conferences.
Dr Thomas Stavrakis, Visiting Consultant Gynaecologist & Reproductive Medicine Specialist
Dr Stavrakis is a visiting consultant at LWC. He graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Greece. He has been awarded the Master of Science in Public Health - Health Economics Stream at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Before joining LWC, he was working as a clinical fellow at the Reproductive Medicine Unit of Hammersmith Hospital. Dr Stavrakis has published scientific articles in international journals and he is co-author in academic gynaecological textbooks. At LWC he focuses on women’s reproductive health beyond empirical therapies and specialises in polycystic ovarian syndrome, fertility preservation, and fertility treatment for women with low ovarian reserve and previous failed cycles.
